Description

The identity balances sharp technicality with softness, allowing the world to feel engineered without becoming overly industrial or aggressive. Typography stretches and contracts like changing terrain.

At MINCHKI, we use Lab Projects to explore new industries, ideas, and cultural directions beyond the constraints of client work.

‍

KOVA emerged from a simple question: what would alpine sportswear look like if performance and elegance were treated as one system rather than two competing worlds?

‍

Typography became a key part of the world-building process. We were particularly drawn to Katalog Super Wide by Edito Type, whose expansive proportions felt reminiscent of the scale and vastness of alpine landscapes. Stretching across layouts like a distant horizon, it brought a sense of openness, movement, and terrain to the identity. Paired with a crisp, contemporary system, it helped balance technical precision with a more elevated editorial sensibility.

‍

The project also became a testing ground for colour, motion, and emerging creative workflows. KOVA allowed us to rapidly prototype different expressions of the brand world and explore how it could evolve across digital, editorial, and campaign environments.

‍

Beyond the identity itself, we explored how AI-generated motion could accelerate world-building. Using Gemini Nano Banana, we created speculative campaign films, movement studies, and visual narratives that extended the KOVA universe beyond static applications. Rather than treating AI as the concept, we used it as a creative sketchbook, helping us test ideas, atmosphere, and storytelling at speed.
